Exciting news – I had my last two fittings this past Saturday (to check the hem and complete the bustle) and I got to pick up my veil that I had made by the Bridal Gown Outlet. I think that finally putting on the completely altered gown finally made everything seem very real. Until that point, it was just a dress that I tried on every couple of weeks for the alterations. Jerad hasn’t wanted to know anything about my look and at this point, it’s so hard not to tell him!
As we’re getting closer and closer to Christmas and the wedding, we’re working on wrapping up a couple of small DIY projects.
One that is very special to me will be carried by our ring bearer. I found the idea on Pinterest to have a ring pillow alternative, so we will be using an old bible that belonged to my father instead. I love the prettiness of the lace in this picture. I haven’t quite figured out what to use to tie the rings yet, but am thinking probably some black satin ribbon. I will also be carrying my father’s blue crystal rosary with my bouquet.

The other classic DIY project that my mom and I will be starting (probably this next weekend) is mint making. We’re going for the classic cream cheese mints. Who doesn’t love those?
17 days to go!
