Change is good.
Week one of my Fitness Challenge is wrapping up and all I can say so far is that I am experiencing some big changes, and I don’t mean in my biceps… yet. I’ve realized that it takes a lot of physical and mental effort in order to switch gears, my lifestyle, and move toward a healthier me!
For those of you that missed the video, I’m signed up with the Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping 5 am session. 5 AM. Yes, I wake up at 4:25… probably just hours after some of you may go to bed! (And I’m on summer vacation!) For those of you that think that I may not last all summer, have you looked at Farrell’s challenge winners? I think Farrell’s results speak for themselves and that is enough to keep me going! (Mentally, the hardest part so far may have been that “before” photo in a bikini… eek!)
I’ll be honest and say I was a regular student in another aerobics workout class prior to this experience at Farrell’s. I worked hard but didn’t see exactly what I was hoping for. I’m realizing that switching up your exercise is amazing for your body. I’m working some muscles that I realize have been overlooked. Thanks to my inability to laugh or sneeze without pain right now (SO sore!), I know some of my abs have been! Also, I’ve never put on a pair of punching gloves before. Farrell’s combines kickboxing and resistance training so I’m putting in plenty of time in front of the punching bag. It’s a great stress reliever!
It takes a lot to change what and when you eat, when you wake up and go to sleep, where you go to get your sweat on (I miss my old workout buddies!) but I know that the results are going to be worth it! Farrell’s and Max Muscle have been great for me so far, and I can’t wait to tell you more about my changes each week! And if your contemplating a workout switch up of your own for the big day, you CAN do it! If I can do it, you can too. 🙂
