One of NWD’s favorite invitation designers, Megan Gilligan with Inkblot Paper Designs, has won a contest on Minted.com for her save-the-date design! Tyler and I really wanted a spring wedding but with the timing of our engagement, we decided we would try to set the date in late summer. We knew what was the most important to us: photography, videography, the reception site, and the church. We had done our research prior to our engagement and immediately started making phone calls. For us, booking these companies and venues was more important than a specific date on the calendar. We knew August would work best for us(fingers crossed for beautiful weather!) and we found the date that worked for everyone we contacted. Just our luck, August 20th, 2011 was the only Saturday available in August. First step was done…we set the date! Next on the list…get photos taken and order the save the dates! We met with Leah from Leah Lund Photography and her work was love at first site. Leah is contagious. She’s extremely talented, bubbly, warm and makes everyone feel at ease. We met with her to go over wedding packages and to take a few snap shots for our Save The Dates. She completely solidified our decision. I know every penny will be worth it with Leah! Leah also worked with me on selecting images for the save-the-date I planned on using. She even took the time to show me some great ideas on the site I told her I was using. Here are a few of the styles I looked at–I ended up using the last image. Although this mint color is not in my main color palette, it makes a fabulous accent color. I couldn’t resist the charm and FUN this save-the-date says! My save-the-dates really set the tone for my wedding and give my guests a great glimpse of what to expect. Which one is your favorite?

Thank you, Leah, for rocking out our mini engagement shoot (under 15 minutes!) I cannot wait for our e-session this spring…I’m working on a “theme” for it! Stay tuned!

Cheers!
