With spring right around the corner, we couldn’t love anything more than bright, sunny accents. This pop of yellow will be sure to put a smile on your face and an extra kick in your step! Try pairing a sunny shade with a mint blue, lilac, red-orange or classic black!

  • HiLLjO - Love yellow! We’re using a ton in our wedding with sunflowers, daisies and my yellow crinoline!ReplyCancel

  • Amber - Fantastic! I am using those straws (but with grey striping) to put in our signature lemonade drink, making those yellow cute poms, and incorporating billy balls into my August wedding. Love yellow, and love this article!ReplyCancel

The Grand Manse, Downtown Lincoln

Best of luck, Brides, and we can’t wait to see you Sunday!

  • HiLLjO - Our color scheme is sunflower yellow and all blues. We’re getting married outside and blue is so hard to match exactly so we thought using ALL blues would bounce off the sky and water colors and tie everything together just fine. It’s kind of like Marc Jacobs’ spring 2011 palette!ReplyCancel

  • Angi - We are doing cranberry red with yellow and orange accents. Being able to use the spring flower colors in their natural colors will be beautiful.ReplyCancel

  • Denae - My wedding colors are burnt umber, Choclate, Sage.ReplyCancel

  • Denae - Okay posting again not seeing it. Our colors are Burnt Orange, Chocolate, Sage.ReplyCancel

  • Jen - We are going to have a destination wedding on a beach right in front of the ocean. Our colors are going to be bright pink and yellow. I think the colors will really pop in the pictures especially in front of the blue water. I will also have some orange flowers in my bouquet. I’m so excited for all the vibrant colors of the tropical flowers. I think they will look great!ReplyCancel

  • Amber - Our color composition is graphite, curry, and white. We are throwing an art deco style wedding and want to keep our focus on the beautiful details of the crystal and ornate designs known of that period, but give a pretty pop of curry (a mustardy-yellow) which will go perfectly with our late August wedding. My dress, the Lazaro 3059, is going to look great paired with the romantic arrabelle dress in graphite from jcrew with yellow and orange flowers. I love this color combination and cannot wait to show it off at the wedding!ReplyCancel

  • Savannah - Our wedding colors are lavender, light apple green and black damask accents. We will be using granny smith apples and sliced limes to incorporate the green.ReplyCancel

  • Ashley - We’re using black & white damask pattern for invitations, programs, cake and cute luminary candles. The bridesmaids are wearing a royal blue color called Horizon and all of our flowers will be shades of blue and purples!ReplyCancel

  • morgan - Our colors are lavender and light tangerine – perfect for our spring wedding!ReplyCancel

  • Kamie - My bridesmaids are wearing grey and I am making diy little fabric pink flowers to accessorize them with. The groomsmen are wearing grey with pink bow ties!ReplyCancel

By making them, I can keep my flowers forever, and they’ll still look as gorgeous as the day I first carried them. I’m planning to use my late-grandmother’s antique buttons so that she can still be a part of our day in a big way. 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Emily - For a special tribute to our mothers and grandmothers, we are having replicas of the bouquets they carried at their wedding made by our florist. They will carry them while they are being escorted to their seat. Hopefully it will make them feel special during our wedding day and remind them of their own wedding day. Without these women ladies my fiance and I would not be the people we are today.ReplyCancel

  • ellen - My fiance’ is having his two sisters stand up with us on our wedding day…on his side of the alter! We are calling them ‘groomsmaids’! Who says only guys can stand up for the groom, right? Just one of the many ways our families have been showing their support for our marriage!ReplyCancel

  • Kamie - I am dying the crinoline under my dress light pink to match our colors!!ReplyCancel

  • jamie - We are going super classic with an all black and white with accents of yellow!!! Super simple chic is what its all about!! The only people wearing/carrying anything white will be my future hubby and I!! My dress is white with lace and he is in black tux with white tie. We are getting married the exact day we got engaged last year! Our flowers aren’t tradional at all!! Spider mums and gladiolus!!The fathers will be in black on black tuxes- super chic!!! We can’t wait for our special day and to celebrate with those closest to us!!ReplyCancel

  • Marge - I have two daughters that are getting married. My oldest daughter is geeting married on 9.10.11 and her colors are lime green and purple. My second daughter is getting married 3.17.2011 and her colors are green and zebra. I do have a third daughter but thank goodness she is still in high school.ReplyCancel

  • Angela Hayter - I am doing almost everything myself. I am making my dress and growing all the flowers myself. Making the food, having doves released. We are getting married in a barn and will have the ceremony on the farm somewhere. And the kicker is that we will have like 300-400 guests so I have alot to do. Nothing really fits what we feel so I am doing it all myself. The only exceptions are the cake(maybe) and the invitations. Also my son is going to give me away since my dad is no longer with us.ReplyCancel

  • Alexa - Hi everyone! I love reading everyones awesome ideas! Wedding planning is the greastest thing! My fiance and I plan to do as much as we can ourselves but I do love hearing all the excelllent ideas! My father loves to garden and most of what we are serving for dinner will be from him! We are serving homemade spaggetti sauce and alfredo sauce! We love pasta and have come to find that it is one of the cheaper things to serve that will still please all guests! I would like to do my own flowers as well. Any suggestions?ReplyCancel

  • racheal - would love tickets to the fantesy bridal show but like our wedding we are broke and thing just dont go the way we wish i know that alot of people want a dream wedding and wish that things could just be given to them
we have been engaged for 5 year and are now having our third baby and i know everyone says if we really want to get married just go to the court house or that you dont have to spend alot and we could if we wanted too!!
well like every other girl in the world i have dreamed of my wedding and i know that dream is a big stretch but i do deserve a wedding dress and the reception and i am willing to have a $500 wedding that is cheap but i have two kids a baby on the way and a feince tha just got layed of so ya tickets to a show i other wise cant ever got to would be awesome!!

  • Britttany Davis - My biggest trend that I will be incorporating into my BIG DAY is leopard print and incorporating a cocktail hour before my reception starts! My fiancé and I have been dating for 4 1/2 years and we just got engaged on March 19th, on Keystone Mountain in Colorado. My mom has been waiting for this day and is super excited, as am I, to attend the Fantasy Wedding Show!!!ReplyCancel

  • Denae - We are having our wedding at a country club that is kind of back from the road, So we are making Wedding signs to go up as to were to go. The special thing about these signs is that they will be made from wood recovered from my feince family farm. The barn is over 150 years old.ReplyCancel

  • Jen - We are having a destination wedding. I want it to be very colorful! I’m excited to have the vibrant pinks, yellows and oranges from the tropical flowers stand out in my wedding pictures. I think it will be so pretty! 😀ReplyCancel

  • Shannon - My colors are black and silver so the newest trend I am incorporating is to have each of the bridesmaids carry down a different vibrant color of flowers. Also I don’t know if it is a trend but saw it recently and thought it was a good idea. At the reception when our guests want us to kiss we draw a name of a couple that is present out of a bowl and they have to kiss first and we will intimidate however they kiss. So it is up to them if it is just a peck, a wet slobber one, or other crazy ways.ReplyCancel

  • Jessica - We’re definitely incorporating a photo booth!ReplyCancel

  • Annie - We are incorporating skateboarding and peace and love into our wedding, as my fiance runs a skate shop and I am obsessed with everything and anything that has to do with “peace” and the whole idea of what it’s about. I couldn’t be more excited to see the finished product of the two and have a beautiful fall wedding this year!!ReplyCancel

  • Christine - We are having the people that mean the most to us stand up on each side, this means we have a mixture of guys and gals on both sides. I love this! Also, we having a peacock feather themed wedding. We are using peacock feathers without going overboard and making it look tacky. Woo Hoo can’t wait for the big day!!!ReplyCancel

  • Alexa - The part of our wedding I am the most excited for is the Candy buffet! we will have a large table set up with 50 to 60 different kinds of candy! Our colors are brown and ivory with pink accents. The candy will all be in our colors. Our peanut butter and chocolate fountains will also be on this table! some of the vases will have phrases on them such as Love is in the air, Love is sweet, Sweet dreams! our guests will enjoy the candy during the reception and we will provide mini jars, boxes, and bags for them to take some home as thier gift! We are making our own lollypops as well. I also would like to have cotton candy but i may be going a little overboard! haha hopefully the kids at our wedding enjoy the candy and also the glitter tatoos!ReplyCancel

Tyler and I have decided to create a signature drink for our reception. We plan to host beer and wine, and then the signature drink would round out the options for all tastes. Right now I am between a champagne and a pomegranete mojito. In one of my first posts, I shared the photo of champagne with some syrup and a sugar cube. This option would be classy and elegant, and I love the pop of color. I also read that the drop of a sugar cube represents a wish, that the couple’s life may represent the happiness and bubbles that the cube creates. I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I hope so! How cute!

The second drink we are contemplating is a pomegranate mojito. This drink would be refreshing and would cater to more guest’s taste. My favorite part would be these pink polka dot or stripe straws from Etsy! These straws are definitely one of my favorite finds on this site yet! I love them!

Here is the recipe for a pomegranate mojito:

1-   Combine the sugar, lime juice and mint leaves in a tall glass; mash with the back of a spoon.

2-    Mix in the rum and pomegrante juice.

3-    Fill glass with ice.

4-     Top with a splash of soda water.
