Bride and groom at the Younes Center in Kearney, Nebraska

Kassi and Aaron’s Jewel-Toned Kearney Wedding

For their summer wedding, Kassi and Aaron wanted an elegant color scheme that would still be light and breezy. They landed on blush, white and gold with touches of burgundy and plum. The bride’s boho gown and the pastel bridesmaids’ dresses lent a romantic tone to the day overall. With several out-of-town guests, the Younes Center proved the perfect venue due to the multiple lodging and restaurant options nearby. 102-degree weather couldn’t stop the couple from having the day they dreamed of – they met on a detasseling bus, after all.

“I will never forget the special dance with my uncle, who is in late-stage heart failure,” says the bride. “He was so determined to dance with me and I’m grateful that we had the chance to share that moment.”

FROM THE BRIDE: The ceremony was so special, and the trolley waiting outside the church was so fun to take on the beautiful June day. The most important parts of the wedding planning were finding the perfect dress and incorporating my veil. The veil is an heirloom, worn by over 33 brides in my family, and my dress was everything I wanted – classic, elegant and comfortable. Judd is an avid golfer and golf has been such a big part of his life, so having our reception at Champions Run was such a great fit for us. We loved sneaking away with our photographer to get some photos on the golf course as the sun went down that night – it was such a gorgeous sunset. My advice for engaged couples who are planning their wedding is to have FUN! Make all the planning of your big day about the two of you – the day is so special and flies by!

Real Wedding | Nellie + Marcus

Having watched the movie UP on their first date, it’s no surprise the movie has a special place in this couple’s hearts! Incorporating the sweetest moments of the movie into their day, the bride describes their wedding day as romantic country with a twist of elegance. Nellie and Marcus’ wedding day was stunning to say the least! The couple thought of everything, creating a wedding affair that was full of special touches for their guests. FROM THE BRIDE: I loved everything about my day, but a memory that I cherish is my husband’s toast to the guests. He thanked all the guests and then proceeded to tell all the guests how truly lucky he felt to marry such a beautiful person. He doesn’t express emotion much in public so it was very unexpected, which made the moment even more special. One of the most important parts of the wedding planning for me was the decor. My mom and I have a passion to decorate, so I had a vision of what I wanted the reception to look like. My mom and Petals to Platinum helped make that happen. It turned out better than I could have imagined! Another important aspect for us was to make every person at the wedding feel special – I love hosting guests! However, when hosting over 600 people it is difficult to make each of them feel like they were special. We had a couple party favors that they could take home, thank yous at each place setting, snacks before the reception, a taco bar during the dance and signature drinks with custom take-home wine glasses. We wanted them to feel like they were at a big party, not just another wedding. Marcus and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends that traveled near and far to help celebrate our special day. Every moment was more than what we could have imagined and it will forever be one of the best days of our lives.

FROM THE BRIDE: Jason and I wanted our wedding day to not only be about us, but our family and friends who we could not have done it without. It was always in the front of our minds that we wanted a fun day of celebrating! That was our focus while planning the reception – from the candy bar, to the photo booth, to the special place setting for children! Reflecting back on our wedding day, my favorite memory was our first look. After all the anticipation, we just could not wait to see each other and share a special moment. It was amazing!
